My chum Paul likes his food hot, too, and when he read the story about Thor, the Fire-Eating Swede, he passed along a tip that you can use if you're both allergic to wheat and lactose intolerant:

One night he was in a Szechuan restaurant, ordering everything with six-star heat as usual, when he got a mouthful of chilis that he just couldn't handle. (It happens to the best of us.) When one of the waiters noticed his plight, he rushed over with a sliced orange.

I'd never heard of that before, but Paul claims it cooled his mouth right off.

You try it first.
